Transforming suburban living through sustainable design
Evergreen Residences represents a paradigm shift in sustainable residential architecture. This 24-unit complex in Toronto's growing north end demonstrates that luxury living and environmental responsibility can coexist harmoniously. The project achieved net-zero energy consumption through innovative design and technology integration.
The client wanted to create affordable, sustainable housing without compromising on modern amenities or aesthetic appeal. The site's northern exposure and limited space presented significant design challenges.
We designed a stepped building form to maximize southern exposure for all units. Rooftop solar panels generate 100% of the complex's energy needs, while green roofs provide insulation and manage stormwater. A geothermal heating system and triple-glazed windows minimize energy loss. The building's smart home systems optimize energy usage based on occupancy patterns.
